IGA welcomes Peelbergen as Show Supporter

The IGA is very pleased to welcome Peelbergen Equestrian Centre as a Show Supporter.

IGA Show Supporters work with the IGA to make positive change for grooms working at FEI Events, and to highlight and celebrate the role grooms play in competitive equestrian sport.

Located in Kronenburg, the Netherlands, Peelbergen is one of the best known equestrian facilities in Europe, hosting events in jumping, dressage, eventing and driving.

With 600 stables onsite and a busy schedule of shows, organisers at Peelbergen are keen to engage with the groom community about the experience of working at their shows.

Peelbergen already offer grooms at all FEI events a free breakfast, and have placed a catering facility with seating near the stables.

IGA Executive Director Lucy Katan MBE said “we are delighted to welcome Peelbergen as a Show Supporter.

As one of the major equestrian venues in Europe we know many of our members will have worked at Peelbergen, and it’s great to be approached by forward thinking organisers who want to hear from the grooms.

In the coming weeks we will be doing a survey to collect feedback from our members about their experiences working at Peelbergen, and this will help us work with the organisers to shape future plans.

We feel there is also an important opportunity here to give the wider equestrian community some insight into the challenges of running a busy competition centre.”

Managing Director of Peelbergen, Ken Ruysen said "We are very pleased to become an IGA Show Supporter and to open up more dialogue with the groom community.

At Peelbergen, we recognise that grooms are the backbone of equestrian sport, their dedication and hard work make top-level competition possible. By working with the IGA, we hope to help create a safe space where grooms feel heard, respected, and represented.

We are committed to doing our best to provide excellent conditions for grooms at our events, but we also believe this is a shared responsibility.

Organisers, riders, and federations must work together to ensure the welfare of grooms, riders, and horses alike. Open dialogue is key, and we look forward to building that together with the IGA.”
