We wanted to take the chance to have a brief interview with the nominees for this year's FEI Cavalor Best Groom Award, about how it feels to be in the spotlight
Today, we're hearing from Lisa Fundis, who has been Philipp Wieshaupt's groom for nearly nine years, including many major Championships.
How does it feel to be nominated for the FEI Cavalor Best Groom Award?
It was such a big surprise for me to be nominated!
We had for sure not our best season, but the work is all the time the same. So it makes me really proud... It is like a dream came true with this nomination!
How did you find out you were on the shortlist?
The FEI sent me an email. I really thought it is a fake mail! Philipp was in CC so I asked him if he please can check his mail... It was no fake 😅
Do you have any career goals for the next few years?
That we grooms support each other. It is not always about the competition success, this you just learn with experience.
It’s about being sure to always try your best!"
How do you feel awards like this are important for the groom community?
It is super important. Everyone gets a place in the spotlight, it shouldn’t be a question any more!
